A Glasgow Girl in London:Part 1-Megabus.

So yesterday me and my boyfriend set off on a 9 hour Megabus journey to London at 6 am. The bus was better than I thought (the last time I travelled by the Megabus to London it was overnight and was not very fun. It was noisy and a little smelly and I couldn't sleep.) and was made even better by the fact that my boyfriend had brought his Frasier box set and so I passed the majority of the time watching that on his laptop and sleeping. By the time we arrived at Victoria Coach Station we went and got our Oyster cards updated. (I will never get over the thrill of beeping through and get amazingly good value travel, I think they should introduce it to Glasgow.) We made our way to our hotel which is very basic but will do and was very very cheap, had a very welcome shower and got changed for a nice meal. We ate at TGI Fridays...now I know there is one in Glasgow and we were planning on being adventurous but by this time I was exhausted and wanted a nice familiar meal. I ordered my usual-Jack Daniels Chicken Strips with a side of fries but this time I got a frozen strawberry Daquiri too. It was DELICIOUS!
 This morning we woke up bright and early-well 8.30 is early...right? And headed down to get some breakfast. We were sorely disappointed as we had been promised a cooked breakfast, only to discover that the options were toast or cereal. Boo!
However, our day is now looking up as we have just purchased nicely discounted tickets for 'A Chorus Line' at the big ticket booth in Leicester Square and I am currently writing this sitting in a cupcake shop. I visit this cupcake shop every time I am in London. I recommend you try it if you ever come here-www.candycakes.com. It is so cute and most of the cakes have edible glitter-my favourite. I had lemon Zest and my boyfriend had a caramel one-he said it was the cupcake to beat all cupcakes. Also they just played the Spanish Version of Listen by Beyonce. Amazing.

I've said this before but it's been a while. Lots has happened since my last post which I'll maybe do a wee update post about, but today I'm here to talk about where I went for lunch today. Living in Corona times the most exciting thing you can possibly do is go for a walk and get a takeaway lunch, and today was an exciting day. After a short walk around Kelvingrove park and down Byres Road we stopped at unassuming little hole in the wall with a long queue outside which is always a good sign. The queue went down quickly and there was some cute dogs in front of us (bonus!). The staff were absolutely lovely. When asking about gluten free options they offered to make me a sandwich from scratch but I instead went for the soup and some bread and butter (not toasted so looks like they always have some fresh bread ready to go). Fräulein 38 makeup brushes review

   Apologies yet again for the lack of blog posts. I am the worst blogger ever. I try and stick to a schedule of uploading every Monday but sometimes life gets in the way. I bought the Fräulein 38 24 piece starter brushes set about 2 years ago. I don't even remember what I used before then but it was probably just a mixture of random brushes collected over the years. However, I ended up buying these as I was about to participate in an amateur production of 'Little Shop of Horrors' and knew that, judging on our past show where I ended up doing the majority of the male casts makeup, I would probably need more/new brushes. After searching about for a cheap brush set I came across these. I believe I bought them from Amazon or a similar retailer as I don't remember the brand having their own website at the time. Picture taken from the Fräulein 38 website as I am silly and decided to wash my brushes therefore they look all soggy and not very attractive just now.

Bath and Body Works-Mahogany Teakwood

Unfortunately for all of us living in the UK, we do not have a Bath and Body Works store. (Or perhaps it's a good thing as if we did I would have no money but lots and lots of candles...)  So, when I was in the states I had to pick up a few wee goodies. I made a trip to the Westfield San Francisco and when I saw Bath and Bodyworks, I grabbed a basket and ran around like a small child in a sweetie store.  At the top of my list were these candles. I had heard that these smelt like Abercrombie Fierce (the lovely scent which you can smell when you walk into an Abercrombie and Fitch) and that is most certainly true. Unfortunately, the bigger candles were too heavy to bring home so I got the three minis instead.  I have started burning one, and it is lasting fairly well. Also, it is really easy to light. (For some reason it takes me many attempts to light some of my other candles.)  Walking into my room now fills me with great joy every time.  Love, Fi x
